What did the Allies know of the dispositions of the German Divisions on the eve of D Day? Had they picked up the moves ordered by Hitler? This 21st Army Group (BIGOT – Top Secret) intelligence document dated 0900 hours 4 June 1944 provides the answers. What is often reduced to clear cut statements with historian's hindsight, was in fact far less obvious at the time.
